Which TFS tent should you buy? A guide to the Lanshanhike range

Start with how you sleep and where you camp. The lightest number on a product page may describe only a flysheet; a two-person label may leave almost no room beside two wide mats. The Lanshanhike range includes compact solo shelters, trekking-pole designs, larger pole-supported tents and models labelled Alpine. They solve different problems.

Make four decisions before comparing models

1. Measure the sleeping system. Record mat length, inflated width and thickness, then allow for a sleeping bag and sloping walls. Use the floor-size and wide-pad guide before treating a capacity label as a fit guarantee.
2. Set a complete shelter weight budget. Count the fly, inner, required supports, pegs, lines, bags and optional groundsheet. The weight guide distinguishes stated totals from our component sums.
3. Choose a pitching system. Akatsuki and Libra 2 explicitly require separately supplied trekking poles. Enran uses a tent pole plus end supports. Carrying those supports changes the comparison if you do not already hike with poles.
4. Define conditions. Expected rain, exposure and snow matter more than a season number. No numeric wind-speed or snow-load limit was verified for this catalogue.

Build a shortlist around the actual compromise

For one person, compare Solitary, Skyline, Enran 1 and Akatsuki. Solitary lists approximately 1001–1081 g across fabric and inner options, while Skyline lists 1150–1200 g and a 1.5-person capacity. Enran 1 has a 220 × 95 cm inner in the retailer's dimension image; its 435 g figure is a flysheet weight. Akatsuki lists about 1000 g excluding its separately sold 130 cm support pole.

For two, use Enran 2 versus Enran 2 EU if low component weight and long sleeping space are central. Use Pangolin versus Gemini to compare a single entrance with two-door access. Consider Yoto Pro's two lengths when the tunnel layout and a distinct vestibule matter.

For more shared space, Stars 2, Stars 2 Pro, Stars 3 and Stars 4 offer different capacities and inner constructions. Watchtower belongs in a separate weight conversation: its listed components sum to 5010 g. Verify the exact configuration before paying

Check the selected fly fabric, inner, pole set, pegs and groundsheet before ordering. The redesigned TFS Stars 2 Pro lists DAC NSL 9.6 mm poles; its current selector offers Pine Green or Brown and a choice of no groundsheet, a 70D full-coverage groundsheet or a 20D full-coverage groundsheet. The base tent excludes a groundsheet. The description states approximately 2.2 kg including DAC pegs, while the specification table still lists 2110 g, so confirm the complete weight of your chosen configuration.
