Choose Floating Cloud 1 for one sleeper who wants a narrower floor and a lower advertised minimum weight. Choose Floating Cloud 2 for two sleepers, or for a solo trip where indoor room matters more than minimizing weight. The two-person model adds a second door and vestibule in the written specification. Before ordering, check your pads and the complete kit weight: the retailer and brand references do not use a fully reconciled specification set. In particular, Floating Cloud 2 has conflicting floor dimensions. A two-person label is not enough to guarantee that two wide pads fit.
| Model | Advertised minimum¹ | Inner dimensions² | Packed dimensions | Packed / carried weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Floating Cloud 1 | 1150 g | 210 × 70 cm; inner height 102 cm | 50 × 13 × 13 cm | Not verified for the current Lanshanhike SKU |
| Floating Cloud 2 | 1621 g | Diagram: inner 200 × 125 cm; inner height 110 cm | 42 × 15 × 15 cm | Not verified for the current Lanshanhike SKU |
¹ Lanshanhike page labels, not measured complete-kit weights. Included components and inner variant must be confirmed. ² Dimensions transcribed from retailer diagrams; not a guarantee of usable sleeping-bag clearance. Floating Cloud 2 differs from the brand specification. All figures checked 17 September 2026; no verified 2025/2026 generation label for these five models.
Start with the sleeping layout
Floating Cloud 1's 70 cm floor width is a clear constraint. A 64 cm rectangular pad leaves only 6 cm of nominal spare width, so plan where your pack and wet clothing will go. Floor length also does not describe space at sleeping-bag height. A thick pad and lofty bag can make a listed 210 cm floor feel shorter.
For Floating Cloud 2, the retailer diagram distinguishes an approximately 200 × 125 cm inner outline from a larger 210 × 130 cm outer outline. The brand reference lists 210 × 120 × 110 cm. Ask which dimensions apply to the supplied SKU. Two 64 cm pads total 128 cm, exceeding the retailer drawing's 125 cm inner width. Do not buy on the assumption that the fabric will stretch to accommodate them.
Understand what the weight comparison can tell you
The retailer advertises 1150 g minimum for Floating Cloud 1 and 1621 g minimum for Floating Cloud 2. Subtracting those labels gives 471 g, but that is only a difference between advertised minimum figures. It is not a measured difference between complete carried kits. The brand references separately list trail weights of 1343 g and 1780 g. Request matched component lists before using either pair for a strict pack-weight decision.
Doors, packing and everyday use
The written listings give Floating Cloud 1 one door and one vestibule, compared with two of each on Floating Cloud 2. Separate entrances can make shared use easier because one person can leave without crossing the other person's sleeping area. That is a more concrete buying reason than a vague claim of superior comfort.
The smaller-capacity tent is not automatically shorter when packed: the retailer lists 50 cm for Floating Cloud 1 and 42 cm for Floating Cloud 2. Confirm the rigid pole length if the tent must fit a bicycle bag. Both listings include a footprint, but the footprint's presence in the package does not resolve whether the minimum weight includes it.
Best for / Not ideal for
| Model | Best for | Not ideal for |
|---|---|---|
| Floating Cloud 1 | Solo backpacking with one sleeping pad and a preference for a dedicated pole frame | Two occupants, generous indoor gear storage, or an unverified strict all-in weight target |
| Floating Cloud 2 | Two backpackers who want separate doors, or a solo camper prioritizing floor space | Two 64 cm rectangular pads without fit confirmation; unanchored exposed sites |
Frequently asked questions
I mostly camp alone. Is Floating Cloud 2 excessive?
It can be a reasonable comfort choice if you accept more weight and pitch space. Buy it for the extra room you will use, rather than for a nominal two-person label.
Which one is better in wind?
The checked specifications do not establish a comparative wind limit. Both need appropriate anchoring; choose campsite and setup carefully.
Should I buy the solid inner to avoid condensation?
A solid inner can reduce drafts, but moisture control still depends on ventilation and conditions. See the condensation guide.
