TFS tent weights explained: flysheet, component sum and packed kit
2026年9月22日

Check what TFS tent weights include, calculate Enran and Vista component sums, and avoid mistaking a flysheet weight for a complete shelter.

Best for

Hikers comparing a complete shelter system and buyers checking a sub-1 kg or sub-2 kg target.

Not ideal for

Ranking unlike configurations as if every advertised weight used the same measurement method.

A 435 g Enran flysheet is not a 435 g enclosed tent. The most useful weight is the load you will actually carry for the intended pitch. Some Lanshanhike listings give a package weight; others provide separate components. Keep those categories visible throughout the comparison.

Use the numbers without changing their meaning

Configuration Published figures and calculation What still needs counting
Enran 1, 7D / 3-season 435 + 308 + 130 + 48 = 921 g Required end supports, optional groundsheet and any unlisted items
Enran 2, 7D / 3-season 435 + 380 + 130 + 48 = 993 g Required end supports, optional groundsheet and any unlisted items
Enran 2, 10D / 4-season 450 + 400 + 130 + 48 = 1028 g The same exclusions
Enran 2 EU 635 + 545 + 215 + 67 = 1462 g; page states about 1500 g End supports; optional 230 g groundsheet
Vista 20D / 30D 1480 / 1530 + 108 + 160 = 1748 / 1798 g Confirm main support requirements and all unlisted accessories; groundsheet separate
Watchtower 2250 + 1297 + 1108 + 355 = 5010 g Anything outside those four listed components

These bold totals are our arithmetic, not newly measured packed weights. The Enran 1 pole and peg figures come from the retailer's embedded specification image. The 38 g difference between Enran 2 EU's component sum and stated approximate total is unresolved; it should not be silently assigned to bags or lines.

Add the parts needed for your pitch

The linked Enran end pole lists approximately 45 g each. A pair adds about 90 g. Adding that pair to the 993 g Enran 2 subtotal gives 1083 g before a groundsheet or other unlisted items. Check compatibility and support length for your version. If you already carry suitable trekking poles, they may not increase your backpack weight, but the shelter still depends on them.

Saga's standard and zippered weights use different inclusion rules. A 20D 1.5P standard tent is listed at 2520 g without a groundsheet; the zippered configuration is 2965 g with its groundsheet. The 445 g difference is a configuration difference, not simply the mass of a zipper. See Saga's variant table.

A practical weighing routine

Lay out everything required for the planned pitch. Weigh each dry component, then weigh the packed shelter together. Record optional items separately and keep the chosen stake quantity explicit. Do not remove required anchors merely to meet a target. The number printed beside a product is a starting point; your packing list is the purchasing comparison.

For a dedicated-pole solo alternative with an explicit component breakdown, examine Solitary in the solo comparison. Its four listed configurations sum consistently, but an optional groundsheet still increases the load. This guide makes no claim that all other product weights include identical bags, lines or sealant.

FAQ: Questions you might ask

Is Enran 1 really a 435 gram tent?

435 g describes its 7D flysheet. The retailer image also lists an inner, main pole and pegs. Their lightest listed combination sums to 921 g before additional end supports and optional items.

Can I call Enran 2 a tent under one kilo?

Only with the configuration and exclusions stated: the 7D/3-season listed components total 993 g, excluding separately supplied end supports. Do not present that as a complete ready-to-pitch kit.

Why does your EU total differ from the website?

The listed components add to 1462 g, while the page states about 1500 g. Both are retained because the difference is not explained.

Do I count trekking poles if I already carry them?

Count them in the support requirements. For the incremental backpack load you can separately note that suitable poles were already in your kit.
